Creating Community for the Waterways
Learn about Strawtown’s Facilitator Trainings

The Sparkill Creek Watershed Alliance (SCWA) is a community action group committed to promoting environmental awareness, partnerships and practices that restore and preserve the health of the Sparkill Creek, from its headwaters on Clausland Mountain to its confluence with the Hudson River in the Piermont Marsh.

The SCWA was founded in response to a student’s Strawtown Studio creek experience.

“Success in the natural world is when life continues for 10,000 generations, which presents a problem for us because we cannot take care of those generations, but we can take care of the place, and the place will make sure that life continues” – Jeanine Benyus, Founder of Bio-mimicry
