Ink Painting with Marsh Grasses

Explore two different local river grasses, phragmites and cattails!  In this program, participants will have fun painting with the grasses, which have been prepared and turned into painting tools, and they will learn how to work with different strokes and ink techniques.  By looking closely at the plants under microscopes, participants will be able to compare the inner structures of the two, and discover how they work in the marsh for providing habitats for different creatures. Great Hudson Estuary Fish Count

Have you ever been on an art hike? Presented in Partnership with the Palisades Parks Conservancy, join Strawtown artists and naturalists for a healthy hike along the Doodletown Brook in Harriman State Park. Winter Crystals: Wondrous Snowflakes & Crunchy Salt
