Explore two different local river grasses, phragmites and cattails! In this program, participants will have fun painting with the grasses, which have been prepared and turned into painting tools, and they will learn how to work with different strokes and ink techniques. By looking closely at the plants under microscopes, participants will be able to compare the inner structures of the two, and discover how they work in the marsh for providing habitats for different creatures. After painting, the marsh grasses will be known in a new way, and participants will be able to identify them on future outings.
This program is free and open to all ages. Bring a picnic lunch. All art materials and tools are provided.
